My favourite project to this date, that I often think about, is a coursework for a course that was constructed as a commission by a real-life client, which in my case was a famous sculptor. The goal with the course was to create a residential house and a studio for the artist according to their wishes and preferences. It started with a presentation and interview with the artist who was then present on the mid-review and final review. I found the assignment particularly intriguing due to the complicated site (a steep rocky elevation) and the habits and personality of my client. I put most of the time into the residential building and I will continue referring only to that. The base concept of the building is to follow the topography of the site and spread out the spaces in a u-shape to create a protected inner courtyard and a wall towards the street. The materiality is divided into brick on the street side and wood on the courtyard side for a more soft haptic experience. The bedrooms and study are all located in the north and south wing of the house with the heart being the living room and kitchen constellation. The kitchen and living room are divided by a fireplace and both are elevated above a corridor leading form the bedroom wing and entrance, bathing the house in light and allowing for an uninterrupted view from the kitchen towards the sea.

I put an immense amount of time on the concept and layout of the building which compromised the final materials. As I made the final visuals entirely by hand because I wasn't happy with my rendering and computer visualising skills at the time, I never utilised my 3D model. I aim to digitalise the design at some point simply because I like this design so much. My biggest success with this work was the client being happy with my interpretations of their wishes, them enjoying the architectural language and them praising the playful ways of presenting the work, which underlines the artistic nature of the inhabitant.
